Steel Plant
The Five Year Plan series of stamps are the second definitive stamp series issued in independent India.
The Five Year Plan series, issued in 1955, provided a comprehensive overview of the Second Five Year Plan’s objectives through 18 stamps across six themes: industry (including powerloom), rare earths, agriculture and multipurpose projects, health, cottage industry, and transport and communication. This plan aimed for rapid industrialisation and transportation development, emphasising heavy industries and capital goods. The Mahalanobis model guided its formulation.
